At the intersection of Sycamore Street and Las Palmas Road, stands an unassuming house.
From the [[exterior]], it seems to blend in nicely with the others around it. The [[garage]] serves as the front door, and the actual entrance is tucked away towards the back right side of the house.
A balcony extends from the opposite end, down a [[hill]] that ends at the [[Mormon Church]]. The walls used to be a gentle off-white cream,

Janine's stepfather decided to paint the trims white, and do all of it himself.

The end result reminds her of a diorama project she handed to Mrs. Laurent in the second grade, made with a LA Gear Shoebox.
[[Speaking of boxes...->garage]]

[[Go back home.->Home]]Five boxes contain old books and various paraphernalia from the last three years. The rest are [[Shannon's shoes]], also in boxes, stacked vertically in groups of four. The boxes frame one minivan and one used Toyota. Janine never understood why they needed a minivan, between her, her mother, her stepdad, two dogs, one turtle, and several angel fish.
[[Go back-> A House of Dreams]]The left side of the house leads to a hill. Half of the hill belongs to the family, and the other half belongs to the [[Mormon Church]] at the bottom of the hill.
Janine remembers cutting through the parking lot of the church, after getting dropped off at the bus stop of her new school, and climbing the hill up to her [[house->End]].Sometimes men in suits would ring the doorbell and ask Janine if she'd like to hear stories about how the earth was saved. Most of them reference how close they are in proximity ("We are just a the bottom of that [[hill]] there!")
Shannon, Janine's mother, loves buying shoes. She acquires them from Payless Shoe stores, and while the poorly constructed materials horrify Janine because they tear up her mother's pudgy feet, Shannon doesn't seem to mind.
Janine didn't remember her mother buying so many shoes before they moved into this [[house->End]].
[[Back to the garage->garage]]At the intersection of Sycamore Street and Las Palmas Road, stands a house of memories.
From the [[outside]], it seems to remember something the others around it, don't. The [[garage]] serves as the front door, and the actual entrance is tucked away towards the back right side of the house.
A balcony extends from the opposite end, down a [[hill]] that ends at the [[Mormon Church]]. The outside used to be brown and white,

and Janine's mom always complained about how it seemed out of style. Janine's dad told her this was only temporary, and they would move to a bigger house soon, one that is cream colored, in a nice school district where Janine will make many friends.

In Janine's dreams, the [[house->Home]] where she grew up with her dad, and [[the one she moved to ->A House of Dreams]] with her mom and stepdad, often extend into one another.
The house remains, even when the dreams end.
